Today’s Maastricht is a city of culture, learning and business. Besides Maastricht is one of the three leading conference cities in the Netherlands. Maastricht is the oldest, most Southern city in the Netherlands and has a population of 125,000.
With a history stretching back some 2,000 years ago, the Romans, Spaniards, French and Germans have all left their mark in Maastricht.
Maastricht has been the crossroads of cultures and trade for thousands of years.
The old buildings are joined by renovated buildings, museums, bridges, an art university and districts where new architecture is combined with
the old. The city treasures its past and new buildings are designed to fit into
and respect the existing old architecture.

The multi-functional congress centre

MECC Maastricht is the most modern congress centre in the Netherlands and has been opened in 1988. It has been built according to the ‘fourth-generation’ concept, which makes it possible to hold a congress, exhibit, dine and stay under the same roof.
The congress centre consists of three multi-functional floors which can all be reached from the registration area.
All floors are connected, allowing guests to see each other.

MECC Maastricht has one auditorium at its disposal for 1,058 and one for 592
persons, which can be consolidated into one meeting room for 1,650 persons.

The horseshoe-shaped area consists of the two auditoriums, several break-out
rooms (which vary in capacity from 6 to 350 persons) and the Expo Foyer of 2,500 m2.

The large number of meeting rooms, the both auditoriums and the Expo Foyer are the perfect combination for a conference.
